Lack of history, impossibility to define what you see, too intensive visual and auditory sensations, or simply incomprehension are the most frequent reasons for rejecting abstract and experimental animation by viewers. In fact, this area serves as an exploration field for possibilities of animated films, finding new ways of visual narration, and above all it is a place in which the viewer’s perception is refreshed, which was previously accustomed to common notions of traditional firm narrative and “Disney” imaging. However, in order to appreciate the important role of experimental animation and the value of abstract animation, we have to “learn” how to perceive it. It will be supported by activities, during which students will get acquainted with the most important examples from the entire history of animated and experimental film and will be able to ask questions.
