Urban Legends, The Filth, Maria Boros, Hungary, 2022, 3’06’’

A still from an animated film. The hand points to a photo from the album. In the photo, an elderly lady with glasses smoking a cigarette looks at two children sitting on the sofa. A blonde-haired girl eats a watermelon, a dark-haired boy draws on the sofa with crayons.

During summer break, kids get the opportunity to try every kind of dirt there is…

Bunnies and Opossums, Thomate Larson, Brazil, 2022, 10’26’’

A still from an animated film. An angular-square rabbit holds a square carrot. Angular, green trees in the background. Block image in the style of the Minecraft computer game.

From the older brother's point of view, the story is set against the backdrop of the father's second marriage and the formation of a new family with the stepmother and her baby daughter. The coexistence and conflicts of the family relationship have as their main focus the relationship between children and electronic devices, where the older brother mixes the concrete reality with the fantasy of the game environments.

The Little Poet, Justine Yixuan King, Australia, USA, 2023, 4’34’’

A still from an animated film. A white, round creature with black hair and eyes sits on a bench with a book in its hands.

“The Little Poet” tells a story of a child's affection towards a girl in a painting. Our protagonist travels around their imagination and visits all the different paintings and art periods throughout the museum. The film shows the innocence of a child's love, as well as the thoughts of growing up and learning to face reality.

Prinzessin Aubergine, Dina Velikovskaya, Germany, 2022, 7’37’’

A still from an animated film. A girl in a red dress and with a blue backpack on her back comes down a grassy hill. Image elements made of paper.

A king and a queen have almost everything: love, pets and a flourishing garden, but something is missing. Where is the princess?

The cheddar daisy, Liselotte Macagno, France, 2023, 4’50’’

A still from an animated film. A yellow, shiny flower surrounded by red railings.

Claude, and her goat tour guide, wants to see the cheddar daisy. This flower can only be found at the top of the montain: the Pic-Odon. The Pic-Odon refuses this ascent because he needs to rest. When she gets at the top, Claude tramples on the cheddar daisy. Enraged, the Pic-Odon makes claude fall down the montain.

Dreamer, Piotr Kaźmierczak, Poland, 2023, 2’33’’’

A still from an animated film. Sketch in black and green colors. A man with a fishing rod in his hand stands on the back of a large whale. There are crowds of cheering people around them.

A simple story of a fisherman - a tale of excessive ambition and missed opportunities.

La Calesita, Augusto Schillaci, Argentina, 2022, 9’37’’

A still from an animated film. A man with a cart with colorful balloons hands a red balloon to a smiling girl. There are other children in line behind her. In the background, a carousel with horses in an amusement park.

A heartfelt story of the beloved Argentinian merry-go-round operators who have dedicated their lives to providing fun and happiness to children and their neighborhoods. This is a story of perseverance and community above the individual.
