First american animated feature film produced by a legend of film and animation. Screenplay is an adaption of a fairytale written by the Grimm Brothers. Worldwide premiere had taken place in December 1937, but in Poland it was screened about one year later. 750 artist were engaged during working on this title, they made about 1 million drawings (250 000 included in film). It was in this film that mutliplane camera was used for the first time. Invented, constructed and improved by technicians from film's producer studio it gave a three-dimensional feeling in many sequences and was also used to give a rotating effect.
First Polish version of the film was probably recorded over the years of 1937/1938, however full version of a cast has been lost during II World War. In 2009 new version of a Polish dubbing was recorded in which many well-known actors took part: Edyta Krzemień, Danuta Stenka, Piotr Fronczewski, Marian Opania, Krzysztof Stelmaszyk, Krzysztof Kowalewski, Krzysztof Kolberger to name few.
