This year's festival theme was not created without reason. We feel compelled to present animations that, in various contexts, connect with the concept of STRANGE.
Three curated screenings, specially prepared for this year's festival, will feature animations exploring themes of emotions, relationships, identity, and the sense of time and space. A mix of diverse themes selected by curators – specialists in their fields. We recommend it, but be warned – it will be a bit provocative.
Love, Rage, Repeat, a short film programm
LOVE, RAGE, REPEAT, curated by Animest Romania for Animocje Festival, proposes a vibrant ride through the emotional extremes of animated storytelling. Playful, sensual, absurd and heart felt, this selection brings together bold European voices who aren’t afraid to turn feelings inside out.

Strange: Remember? - a short film programm
Film programme Strange: Remember? Is a selection of animations submerged in various spaces: those close and lived, remembered, butalso imagined. Time doesn’t flow here in a linear manner: it loops, rewind sand stretches, and the boundaries between “now” and “then” become blurred. Identity forms itself from many instances of “I”, living simultaneously in the memory and imagination, coexisting and constantly transforming.

Places That Devour You - a short film programm
Places That Devour You invites us to reconsider our relationship to the spaces we occupy. Not as passive environments, but as living systems that absorb us, reshape us, and sometimes feed on us - until the boundary between place and self begins to dissolve.
