10th Animocje - full-length films

Male and female creators of animated films are brave beasts. They are not afraid of long hours spent on one production. Hours? Sometimes even years! Yes, yes ... making a full-length animation is a real challenge. It can take a few or even dozen years.

And what full-length films are on our schedule this year?

• A South Korean thriller story wherein the main character Yeji, a frustrated with failures and full of insecurities woman belonging to the society where the sense of lookism is rampant, gets to come across the dangerous and miraculous Beauty Water.
  Beauty Water, dir. Cho Kyung-hun (April 19 and 22)

• Animated documentary telling the personal story of its director, Ilze, about her growing up in the Cold-War USSR. It is an exciting coming-of-age story about finding one’s own identity, truth and loyalty.
  My favorite war, dir. Ilze Burkovska-Jacobsen (Aprit 20)

• The story that humorously deals with the timeless theme of the conflict between unlimited power on the one hand, and the desire for freedom, courage and love on the other.
